Roanoke man arrested after Dollar General robbery

ROANOKE, Va. – Roanoke police say they arrested J'wawn James Sunday evening on Melrose Avenue without incident.

He was taken to the Roanoke City Jail


Roanoke police are looking for a man accused of robbing a dollar store Wednesday evening. 

It happened around 8 p.m. at the Dollar General Store in the 3300 block of Melrose Ave. NW. 

Police say a man walked up to a cashier, presented what appeared to be a revolver, and demanded money. Once he got the money, he ran out of the store. 

No one was hurt. 

Officers have a robbery warrant out for the arrest of 23-year-old Roanoke resident J'wawn Lamont James Jr.
