Roanoke man convicted of 2016 double shooting

The shooting happened on Sept. 20, 2016

ROANOKE, Va. – A judge found a Roanoke man guilty of shooting a couple in Roanoke's West End neighborhood last year.

Jermaine Peavy was convicted on two counts of unlawful wounding, possessing a firearm as a violent felon and shooting in the street with an injury.

Investigators say he shot 21-year-old Ramel Abrams and his girlfriend, 21-year-old Shekhera Saunderson in September.

Peavy previously pleaded guilty to beating an 18-year-old with a baseball bat in 2014.

He will be sentenced at a later date.
