24-year-old Roanoke man dies after January shooting at Smokey Bones

ROANOKE, Va.UPDATE

Nearly a year later, Roanoke police say that a man has died of complications related to being shot in the Smokey Bones parking lot.

24-year-old Isaac Alfred DeAngelo Day died Sunday, December 16, according to police. A medical examiner determined that his cause of death was related to the January 15th shooting. 

No one has been arrested. 

This case is now classified as a homicide. The investigation is ongoing. 

ORIGINAL STORY 

Roanoke police are investigating reports of an overnight shooting in the Valley View area. 

It happened around 11:20 p.m. in the Smokey Bones parking lot, according to police. 

24-year-old Isaac Alfred DeAngelo Day was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. It's not clear how badly he was hurt. 

No one has been arrested at this time. 

This is not the first time this has happened there. Officers had to investigate reports of shots fired in the restaurant's parking lot back in June 2016. No victims were reported in that incident.
