ROANOKE, Va. – The Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center is taking in more animals than ever before. With the higher numbers, the center has a critical need for donations of all kinds--everything from cat and dog food to cleaning supplies are needed to help the rescued wildlife survive.
Just this year, the center has handled more than 1,000 cases and workers say they simply can't do it alone.
"We were downstairs and went, 'Oh my gosh, they're getting ready to come in again, they're already starting.' And our shelves were bare, so we need help this year to keep up with the demand and the need for the wildlife," said Sabrina Garvin, executive director of SWVA Wildlife Center.
