ROANOKE, Va. – In Virginia, there is $2.5 billion worth of unclaimed property and cash.
On Thursday, our Find Your Money event helped people claim more than $50,000.
In November, WSLS 10 had more than 20,000 calls from viewers looking for lost money. More than $50,000 was claimed at the event.
Since it was such a success, we're bringing it back.
On Friday, between 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. you can call WSLS 10 at 540-512-1620 to find out if cash and valuables are waiting for you.
If our phone bank is busy, you can also check online to see if you have unclaimed property.
The items include cash, jewelry, stocks and property that are stored by the Virginia Department of the Treasury.
One in four Virginians has a stake in that claim, meaning you may have something unclaimed you didn't even realize was there.
