Several of Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax's staffers resign after second sexual assault allegation

RICHMOND, Va. – Several of Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax's government and political action committee employees resigned after a second woman accused him of sexual assault, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. 

Two of three government employees and two PAC employees resigned following the news Friday.

The PAC employees who resigned are Dave Mills, executive director of We Rise Together and Courtney McCargo, a PAC fundraiser.

Mills is married to state Sen. Jennifer McClellan, who is being discussed as a potential replacement for Fairfax should he resign, according to NPR.  

Adele McClure, Fairfax's policy director and Julia Billingsly, his scheduling director, are the two government employees who have resigned. 

Fairfax's job as lieutenant governor is part-time, and he also works as a lawyer with the firm Morrison & Foerster. The firm has placed him on paid leave.
