DANVILLE - The city of Danville is once again honoring local service members and first responders.

The annual Field of Honor has been set up along the Dan River at the corner of Memorial Boulevard and Main Street.

Ahead of Flag Day, which is June 14, dozens of American flags are placed in the ground.

The flags cost $40 and are sponsored by local businesses.

Individuals can also pay $40 and have a flag put up to honor someone who isn't a first responder or service member.

The display is set up by the Danville Rotary and proceeds go to a scholarship fund.

The flags will remain up through July Fourth.
