DANVILLE, Va. - A local business showcase is helping connect businesses with each other and with the public.
The Danville-Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce's annual event was held at Averett University's North Campus Friday.
Over 50 businesses participated in the showcase.
Businesses set up booths and had representatives available to talk to people.
The chamber's program manager, Trina McLaughlin, said the event also helps attract new businesses to the area.
One example is Jimmy Johns.
"We don't have a Jimmy Johns, however (the company is) here to find someone interested in franchising and what they can do," McLaughlin said.
"(The company is) a community company that loves to give back to the community. So they've been talking to a ton of people about opening up a franchise."
She added that Jimmy Johns is very interested in coming to Danville.
