Danville entrepreneur recognized for efforts to improve health, business in Southside

Monica Motley one of 50 in US selected to participate in workshop in China

DANVILLE, Va. – One Danville entrepreneur is getting national recognition for her work to make Southside healthier and more attractive to businesses.

Dr. Monica Motley just returned from a weeklong entrepreneur workshop in China.

She was one of only 50 people in the US chosen for the trip.

The group met with Chinese entrepreneurs to network and share ideas.

In Danville, Motley's consulting business helps companies better meet the health needs of their communities and improve social interactions.

She believes those benefits can help attract tech companies looking to move away from Silicon Valley in California, the traditional hub for tech companies.

"They're looking (for these areas that have) a healthy workforce and that are healthy communities. They're looking for thriving social justice efforts that are going to improve the quality of life of their potential employees as well as employees that they'll bring with them," Motley explained.

She is currently working on developing a website for her business. In the meantime, she can be reached at info@motleyconsultinggroup.com or motleyconsultinggroup@yahoo.com.
