DANVILLE, Va. –
A newspaper carrier in Danville told police he was robbed early Tuesday morning.
It happened around 3:25 a.m. in the 100 block of Brentwood Dr. No one was hurt.

The newspaper carrier reported that he was sitting in his parked vehicle when he was approached by a man, who asked for a light for his cigarette. The man then took out a gun and demanded money, according to police.
After taking a small amount of money, police say the man drove off toward Northmont Blvd. in a white Nissan sedan with a 30-day temporary tag. The tag number is not known. As the man was leaving in the vehicle, the newspaper carrier reported hearing a gunshot.
The suspect is described as being a black male in his early- to mid-20s. He was clean-shaven and wearing a dark hoodie and ball cap.
