Henry County reveals new logo honoring Martinsville Speedway's 70th anniversary

Logo will be used to create synergy

HENRY COUNTY, Va. – In celebration of Martinsville Speedway’s 70th year, Henry County has produced a new, limited-use logo honoring the race track.

“Martinsville Speedway has been an integral part of our community for 70 years,” Henry County Board of Supervisors chairman Jim Adams said. “It has created jobs for our residents, helped sustained our tax base, and created pride and optimism for our community.  We are so proud to call Martinsville Speedway our own.”

The new logo's oval shape and the light fixtures represent the racing action on the only track from NASCAR’s original schedule that hosts Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races and its recent addition of LED lighting.  The inner perimeter includes a colorful representation of our beautiful mountains, rivers and green spaces.

“Seventy years is something to be really proud of and something we take great pride in,” Martinsville Speedway president Clay Campbell said.  “Henry County has been a great place to call home and we look forward to continued success in this community.”

Henry County will use the logo to help create synergy around the many activities planned over the next several months to commemorate the 70th anniversary.

Upcoming events at Martinsville Speedway include the community Independence Day celebration on July 3, the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 Late Model Stock Car Race on Sept. 23 and the Old Dominion 500 race weekend on Oct. 27-29.  For more information about Martinsville Speedway or to purchase tickets please visit www.martinsvillespeedway.com
