Intertape Polymer Group expanding, creating jobs in Pittsylvania County

Gov. Terry McAuliffe made announcement Thursday

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – Intertape Polymer Group in Pittsylvania County is expanding.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe was at the plant Thursday afternoon to make the announcement.

The company will invest $7 million over the next three years to add more space, creating 15 new jobs.

Virginia beat out South Carolina and Illinois for the expansion.

McAuliffe thanked the plant's employees.

"We could all stand up here," McAuliffe said, pausing as cheers erupted from the crowd, "we could all stand up here and take credit but it's the folks who are working for the company today that the company had faith in and said, 'Yes, this is a great workforce. We're going to expand here.''

Intertape's CEO, Greg Yull, said the expansion is part of the company's five to seven year plan to double the company's revenue to $1.5 billion.
