DANVILLE - God's Pit Crew was giving people an opportunity Tuesday to contribute directly to the organization's latest project.

The Danville organization set up a ladder tree outside the Danville Lowe's all day.

A ladder had cards on it that contained instructions about buying a Lowe's gift card for God's Pit Crew to use to purchase building supplies.

The supplies will be used to help build a home for a woman who lost hers during the wildfires in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, in 2016.

"We buy almost all the material here in our home state and transport it out there. So that helps our local economy and assures us that we've got everything we need when we get out there," God's Pit Crew CEO Randy Johnson said.

As of Tuesday, about $60,000 was still needed.
