Man charged, arrested after Danville weekend shooting

DANVILLE, Va. – Danville police arrested a 32-year-old man Wednesday after a weekend shooting in the city.

Franklin Deron Myers Jr. is charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of malicious wounding after allegedly shooting a 19-year-old man Sunday in the area of Pumpkin Creek and Lockett Drive.

Myers was arrested at a car wash on South Main Street and Chatelaine Avenue.

Police say his booking photo is being withheld while the investigation continues.

The 19-year-old victim is in stable condition and continues to receive treatment at Carillon Roanoke.
