DANVILLE, Va. – UPDATE: Danville Police have identified the man who died after getting shot in the head at Antwan Duval Tucker Jr., 25, of Danville.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Danville Police Department said a man died Saturday morning after being shot in the head.

A spokesman said the man was being treated for injuries and was later transferred to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he died at 4:11 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police say they responded to a call of shots fired at 10:50 p.m. Friday in the area of Ross Street. They say moments later a 25-year-old black male living in Danville arrived at the emergency department of SOVAH Health with a gunshot would to his head.
