Two arrested for allegedly shooting man on moped in Martinsville

Both face felony charges

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – UPDATE

Two people have been arrested after police say the pair shot a man on a moped in Martinsville and left him in critical condition.

Authorities say the duo, Cristoming Hairston and Ella Davis, are facing charges. 

Officers say they responded to the area around Church and Massey streets following a report that someone was shot while driving a moped in the area. 

When officers arrived, they say they found 33-year-old Lesley Hundley with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was taken to SOVAH Hospital and then to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. 

Hairston, 30, has been charged with felony charges of malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm in public resulting in bodily injury, maliciously shooting an occupied vehicle and misdemeanor charges of reckless handing of a firearm and damaging property. 

Davis, 31, is facing felony charges of malicious wounding and conspiracy to commit malicious wounding. 

Both Hairston and Davis were arrested at Davis' house and are being held without bond.

There was a shooting Wednesday in Martinsville, police Chief Eddie Cassady confirmed to 10 News.

Police are in the primary stages of the investigation and are conducting interviews, according to Cassady.
