Glasgow man killed in Amherst County crash

Crash happened around 1:30 Saturday afternoon on Route 130

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. – A Glasgow man was killed in a crash in Amherst County Saturday afternoon.

Virginia State Police said the crash happened just after 1:30 p.m. on Route 130 about a mile west of Route 812.

Police said a 2001 Nissan Maxima was traveling east on Route 130 when it ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle then crossed back over the road and ran off the left side, where it struck an embankment and then a tree. 

The driver, 71-year-old Robert G. Kindle, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
