Michigan woman killed in Buchanan County crash

The single-vehicle crash happened early Saturday

BUCHANAN COUNTY, Va. – A Michigan woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Buchanan County early Saturday.

Virginia State Police said it happened just after 3:30 a.m. on Route 460, less than a hundred feet from Route 638.

Police said a 2009 Dodge Charger was traveling along Route 460 when it ran off the right side of the highway, struck the guardrail and overturned.

The driver, 60-year-old Sheila G. Long, of Monroe, Michigan, died at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.

This crash was one of eight deadly crashes Virginia State Police responded to and investigated across the commonwealth on Saturday.
