Back by popular demand, the 10 News Shred-A-Thon event will help you protect yourself from identity theft.

People can bring their sensitive documents to be shredded for free. There's a 10 box limit this year.

Since the event began, thousands of pounds of paper have been shredded and recycled.

There will be two opportunities to shred in November:

November 20: Schewels in Roanoke (3602 Ferncliff Ave.) from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
November 27: Schewels in Lynchburg (7007 Timberlake Rd.) from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Police will be at both locations to help direct traffic.
