Overall, 86 percent of Virginia schools are now fully accredited, which is a 5-point improvement from last year.

Two local schools in particular have greatly improved since last year. Moneta Elementary in Bedford County and T.C. Miller Elementary in Lynchburg are now fully accredited after being denied last year.

Seven local schools are now fully accredited after undergoing reconstitution, which translates to an overhaul of school leadership, faculty or instruction. They are as follows: Rustburg Middle in Campbell County, E.C.
