VSP investigate two fatal crashes in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY Va. (WSLS 10) - Virginia State Police report two people have died in crashes in Washington County since Wednesday.

Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash in Washington County at 11:28 p.m. on Wednesday. The crash happened on Wagner Road, less than a mile west of Route 641.

Skiler J. Light, 24, of Kingsport, Tennessee, was driving west on Wagner Road when he ran off the left side, hit a tree and overturned.

Police say he was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation and police say, the car had been reported stolen out of Bristol, Tennessee.

Virginia State Police are also investigating a fatal crash that happened. at 3:44 p.m. on Wednesday.

It happened on Route 58 at Route 600 in Washington County.

Police say a tractor-trailer was traveling west on Route 58. As it came through a curve, the tractor-trailer overturned onto its side in the roadway.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. The driver died at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation. The diver's name has not been released as police are still in the process of notifying the next of kin.
