Gurney falls from coroner's van, deceased ends up in traffic

Coroner says there was no trauma to body

Motorists in Washington were forced to take different routes Monday after a deceased person on a gurney fell out of the back of a coroner's van.

According to The Associated Press, two gurneys fell out of the van into an intersection, prompting local police to redirect traffic. Officials from the coroner's office were subsequently contacted to reload the gurneys.

Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock said there didn't appear to be any trauma to the body, and the family was notified of the incident.
