An Iowa man who tried to deposit what he claimed was a $1 million bill was subsequently charged with drug possession.

The Associated Press reports Dennis Strickland, 33, entered a Sioux City bank and tried to deposit the bill into his account. When police were called to the Northwest Bank branch, they asked Strickland to empty his pockets to determine if he had any more of the bills. That's when, police say, a baggie containing methamphetamine fell out.

Court records say Strickland is due in court Monday, and calls to his attorney haven't been returned.

The U.S. Treasury notes it has never produced a $1 million bill.
