A man and woman are in custody after they jumped a fence while evading officers and landed onto property connected to the police station.
Marwan Al Ebadi, 28, and Salma Hourieg, 29, were on the run after allegedly shoplifting from an Arizona convenience store. KTAR News reports when police were called to the gas station, the duo apparently ran from the store directly toward the Peoria Police Department station.
As the suspects climbed the fence, they didn't realize they were heading for police property. Hourieh was eventually placed in handcuffs after she tried to hide under a bench, while Al Ebadi was arrested in the street after he climbed back over the fence.
Both were charged with shoplifting and trespassing in a critical public safety building. They are also facing drug charges.
