Round Town: Music and outdoors

Here are some of the events happening Round Town


The Down by Downtown Music Festival continues at various venues in Roanoke this weekend.  Bands will play at a dozen different venues from Elmwood Park to several bars and restaurants.  The music festival coincides with the Blue Ridge Marathon.  Lotus is the headliner for the event, playing at Elmwood Park Saturday night.  General admission tickets are $24.

Music will fill the air in downtown Lynchburg at the Lynchstock Music Festival.  More than 40 artists will play on five different stages at Riverfront Park.  Tickets start at $25.  Lynchstock is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Radford's Bisset Park is home to the Virginia's Outdoor Lovers Expo.  Enjoy a 300 foot zip line, paddleboarding, local food and beer, a raffle and gear swap.  The free, family friendly event runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

Salem Parks and Recreation holds the annual Ernest "Pig" Robertson Fishing Rodeo this weekend.  Kids will be able to fish at Lake Spring Park and keep up to six trout.  Kids between the ages of three and eight can fish from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. 

The Sedalia Center holds BBQ and Blues on Saturday.  Try barbeque from around the region, beer and enjoy great music.  The food and fun start at noon on Saturday.
