Events happening this weekend.

Star City Motor Madness comes to Roanoke's Williamson Road this weekend.  People will line the street, watching classic and special interest cars drive up and down the drag Friday night starting at 6 p.m.  On Saturday, the Car and Truck Show takes place in downtown Roanoke from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Hundreds of cars and after market vendors will be on display.

Dance the night away at the Star City Sock Hop.  There will be a DJ, dance contest, best costume contest and more.  It's Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Valley View.

Party in the Park returns to the Vinton Farmers' Market tonight.  Domino will take to the stage.  Gates open at 6 p.m. with the music starting at 6:30 p.m.  Admission is $6.

The Galax Fire Department Carnival continues this weekend.  There are carnival rides, lawn mower races, fireworks and more.  Gates open each night through Saturday at 5 p.m. with bingo.  The carnival begins at 6 p.m.

The Virginia Tech Alumni Association holds its Summer Beer Festival.  More than 50 different beers will available for sampling from local, regional and national breweries.  There will also be food trucks, entertainment and more.  Tickets are $35 at the gate.  The festival is Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.

Riverfront Park is home to the Lynchburg Beach Music Festival.  Entertainment includes The Embers, The Band of Oz, Legacy Motown Review and The Castaways.  There's also food, drink, vendors and more.  It's Saturday from noon to 7 p.m.  Tickets cost $35.
