The Christmas tree will be lit at the Franklin County Courthouse.  The Benjamin Franklin Middle School band will perform.  The tree lighting ceremony begins Friday night at 5:30 p.m.

Head to downtown Lexington for the Holiday Market and tree lighting.  There will be arts and craft and food vendors, as well as an ice rink.  The market runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Triangle Park.  The tree lighting takes place at 6:30 p.m.

Enjoy Christmas lights from the warmth of your car in Galax.  High Country Lights kicks off this weekend with thousands of lights, choreographed to your favorite Christmas tunes.  The lights are on nightly from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. through New Year's Day at Felts Park.
