Round Town: Veterans Day events

Events happening this weekend.

Celebrate our nation's veterans at the Virginia's Veterans Parade.  More than five dozens floats and marching bands will parade through downtown Roanoke, honoring those who served our nation.  The parade begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday.  If you can't make it to the parade, you can watch it live here on 10 News.

The City of Lynchburg holds its first Veterans Day Parade in nearly 80 years on Saturday.  It begins at 9 a.m. at Liberty University.  

The National D-Day Memorial holds its Veterans Day Observance on Saturday.  Veterans of every branch will be recognized with children from Boonsboro Elementary School performing.  The ceremony begins at 11 a.m.

The Campbell County Library Foundation holds a Pancake Jamboree.  You will enjoy a full pancake breakfast with all the fixings.  Tickets are $7 for adults.  Veterans get in for $5 with children 10 and under getting in for $3.  Proceeds benefit the foundation as it support libraries in Campbell County.

Get some holiday shopping done this weekend at the Junior League of Roanoke Valley's Stocked Market.  Hundreds of vendors from across the country will be there.  You can shop on Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Admission is $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
