LEXINGTON (WSLS 10 SPORTS)  If a picture is worth a thousand words, you can only wonder what this year's version of the VMI Keydets team picture would like to tell us.   New head coach Scott Wachenheim inherits a team that's won just two games in each of the past three seasons..  They will attempt to turn the program in the right direction in the Southern conference.

"At the end of the day we want to keep her short-term memory and we also want to be the team to change this-- turn this around and go down in history books and have a winning season and maybe get a couple playoff games in there too, "says Alex Keys, a defensive back from Franklin County.

"These guys bring a lot of energy here and that's what we need it's a breath of fresh air the players are enjoying it. I'm enjoying it for my last season and will try to make the most of it and really change the atmosphere here and it's really going good for us and I think it's gonna be great," explains running back Derrick Ziglar of Martinsville.

The Keydets open the season on the road at Ball State on September third.
