Salem Red Sox pitcher clocked at 105 mph

SALEM (WSLS 10 SPORTS) - Salem Red Sox pitcher Michael Kopech was clocked by two radar guns throwing 105 mph in Wednesday night's game against Wilmington at Lewis Gale Field. It was Kopech's second start in Salem, he struck out three batters in the first inning, eight total, tying his career high. He walked one and allowed four hits in five innings. The Blue Rocks made a comeback and won the game 6-5. According to ESPN, the fastest pitch is believed to be set by New York Yankees reliever Aroldis Chapman when he was with the Reds in 2010, at 105.1 mph.
