Fuente names Jerod Evans starting quarterback for VT season opener

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10 SPORTS) - The question being asked since spring practice at Virginia Tech is, "who will be the starting quarterback in 2016." Thursday that question was answered as Coach Fuente named junior college transfer Jerod Evans as the starter for the season opener against Liberty. The competition was between Evans and Christiansburg product Brenden Motley, with Josh Jackson making recent strides. Motley and Jackson are expected to see playing time against the Flames.
