Hokies to utilize bye week before more ACC play

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10 SPORTS) - As Virginia Tech enters its bye week, Coach Fuente plans on evaluating his team internally, before focusing on UNC.

"We're looking forward to getting on the field this week, Tuesday and Wednesday will be 'get better practices,' they are the two last practices we can have like that in the season until the season is over. After those two practices we will turn out attention to more of a game-prep mindset," explained Fuente.

"We're definitely going to use this week to rest up, get our bodies right. the bumps and bruises that we have to get those fixed and go back to fundamental and developmental practices a little bit and utilize all the time we get," said wide receiver Cam Phillips.

The break comes after the Hokies put up a combined 103 points in their last two games, momentum the team hopes to carry as they resume their schedule in ACC action.

"As a group, in putting up the points the way that we did these past two weeks is really a confidence booster but at the same time, we can't get too high but we can't get too low because we still have a long season ahead of us.

The players will have a few days off between now and October 8th, when Virginia Tech travels to UNC.
