Three of the starting four infielders are Salem Red Sox

Salem, Va. – Next week's Carolina League all-star game will include five Salem Red Sox. Three of the four starting infield positions for the north division stars will be held down by Red Sox. Salem is led by third baseman Michael Chavis.  He leads the league in average, home runs and runs batted-in as well as slugging and on-base percentage.  Joining him is first baseman Josh Ockimey and second baseman Chad De La Guerra.  Also named to the team are pitchers Dedgar Jimenez and Trevor Kelley.

"Well, it just goes to show you've got a good team here where two games in first place as of now. And it's not just the all-stars. They are key guys but to be a first place team everyone's got to be clicking on all cylinders and that's what we've been doing we've been playing 9 innings of baseball every game," relief pitcher Trevor Kelley says.
