Pulaski advances to Appalachian League finals

Yankees blank Bluefield 2-0 to win East Division

Pulaski's Eric Wagaman scores to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead over Bluefield in the Appy League's East Division playoffs.

Pulaski defeated Bluefield 2-0 in the third and deciding game of the Appalachian league's East Division finals on Labor Day evening. The win advances the Yankees to the league championship series vs the winner of Greeneville and Elizabethton. The two West Division rivals are tied one-game each, with the third and deciding game set for Tuesday night.

 The Yankees got a Ricky Surum RBI double in the top of the second that scored Eric Wagaman for a one run lead. The next batter, Jesus Batisdas singled home Surum for the 2-0 Yankees lead, which turned out to be the final score.
