Overstreet runs away with week four honors

Staunton River senior finds the end zone 4 times vs Liberty

MONETA, Va. –     It takes a pair of wins to capture the high school bragging rights for Bedford County.  Staunton River has  already defeated Jefferson Forest this season. On Friday night the Golden Eagles got down to the business of claiming the county against Liberty High School. It should come as no surprise that running back Grayson Overstreet led the way.

The reigning and defending 1st and 10 player of the year steamrolled for 266 yards and 4 touchdowns on just 14 carries to lead the Golden Eagles to their fourth straight win to open the year.  It was a resounding 49-7 win over the Minutemen of Liberty.

Overstreet is closing in on the VHSL career rushing and touchdown marks.  But for now the university of Richmond commit will have to settle for being our week 4 WSLS 1st and 10 player of the week.
