BLACKSBURG, Va. – The showdown of last year's class 3A and 4A state champs, Blacksburg and Salem, was a shocker.
In it’s domination, the Bruins, moving up from class 3A  to 4A, proved that they belong with a 49-12 win over the perrennial power Spartans.Â
Blacksburg star running back Cole Beck left no stone unturned, churning for 305 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Beck's touchdown runs were 78, 56 and 35 yards, as the Bruins serve notice that they belong in the class 4A elite.
Cole Beck delivered with the combination of speed and power which makes him the most highly recruited divison I prospect in our area.Â
