Lewis won two Super Bowls with the Ravens

BALTIMORE – An online petition has started to remove the statue of a Baltimore Ravens legend after he kneltduring the playing of the national anthem on Sunday.

The petition on change.org has received more than 18,500 signatures.

Lewis played his entire career for the Ravens from 1996 to 2012. While with the team, he was named to 13 Pro Bowls and was also the 2000 Super Bowl MVP.

Back in early August, Lewis posted a video to Twitter where he suggested that Colin Kaepernick may be better off if he kept his social activism quiet.

The petition is addressed to Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti.
