BLACKSBURG, Va. – No. 2 Clemson University defeated No. 12 Virginia Tech, 31-17, on Saturday night.
Despite having 10 more total yards than the Tigers, with 342, the Hokies were not able to maintain their perfect 2017 season, and instead dropped to 4-1.
The biggest problem for the Hokies proved to be turnovers. A third-quarter Travon McMillian fumble eventually turned into a Clemson touchdown.
Quarterback Josh Jackson threw two interceptions, one of which was returned for a fourth-quarter Tigers touchdown.Â
Now, the Hokies turn their attention toward Boston College, while Clemson takes on Wake Forest.
