ROANOKE, Va. – The Hokies are counting down to another season under Buzz Williams. The highly-successful coach starts his fourth season in Blacksburg this fall.
Last year's NCAA tournament bid was a big step for a program that's steadily on the rise since the coach got to town.
WSLS-10 Sports' Alyssa Rae caught up with the coach at the Hokie Club tip-off event in Roanoke.
He addressed the seven new faces who will be eligible to play on this year's roster.
"That's a lot of guys to put together, but you know, that's part of the newness of it and the freshness of it and part of the excitement of it. "Those seven guys are gonna have to do more than they've ever done before, but maybe that's the next step for each of those people," Williams said.
The Hokies are coming off a 22-11 season that included a victory in the ACC tournament..and a ten-point loss to Wisconsin in the NCAA tournament. The trip was the first for the program since the 2007 tournament.
