Packers sign QB Jerod Evans to practice squad

Green Bay adds former Hokie quarterback to practice squad after Rodgers injury

GREEN BAY, Wi. – The Green Bay Packers have signed former Virginia Tech quarterback Jerod Evans to the pactice squad. Evans is an undrafted rookie who left college with remaining elligibility to enter the NFL draft. After going undrafted, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles but was released. 

Evans started all 14 games for the Hokies in 2016 and threw for 3,546 yards and 29 touchdowns. He ran for 846 yards and 12 touchdowns in the same season.

Before coming to Virginia Tech Evans played football at Trinity Valley Community College.

He will wear No. 9 for the Packers.
