BLACKSBURG, Va. – Lost in the slip n' slide second half conditions of Virginia Tech's win over Duke was the passing record that Josh Jackson eclipsed. The Hokies signal caller broke the single season freshman passing record set by Michael Vick in 1999.
But had no idea it had even happened.
"I did or I didn't?" asked Jackson. "I did? No I didn't even know about it. Its obviously awesome. I'm no type of player even close to Mike Vick, but it's a pretty cool accomplishment and I just want to continue to get better." Jackson said.
Jackson has now passed for 2.032 yards and counting on the 2017 season. He leads all freshman quarterbacks in the nation. It is worth noting that Vick rushed for 682 yards back in 1999 as well.
