FOREST, Va. – There was a smattering of region finals still to be decided Friday evening with the Spring Jubilee looming next weekend. In girls soccer action, Jefferson Forest outlasted Salem 1-0 in a showdown of area squads for the 4A west region crown.
A pair of 4A south region lacrosse titles also were contested. On the boys side, EC Glass dominated Midlothian 10-5, while on the girls side, it was host Salem edging Monticello by a 7-6 count.
On the diamonds, the 3A west titles in both baseball and softball were decided. Undefeated Brookville rallied from a run down to capture a 6-1 victory over Patrick County in the softball final. Meanwhile it was Turner Ashby turning away the Brookville boys by a 4-0 count on the baseball diamonds.
The annual spring jubilee commences next week with Group 1A & 2A state semifinals being contested in Radford, and the Group 3A & 4A contests happening in Salem.
