Vanderbilt tied an NCAA tournament record for largest shutout margin with LSU, a 21-0 winner over Louisiana-Monroe in 2000. It was the most runs scored by Vanderbilt since a 21-run outburst against Niagara in 2010.

Vanderbilt (45-19) scored in each of the first five innings in winning its fifth regional in six years. Next up: a Super Regional at Big Ten champion Illinois (50-8-1,) which boasts the best winning percentage in baseball.

The Commodores tied a school record with four triples and broke a Vanderbilt record for runs in an NCAA tournament game. Every batter in Vanderbilt's starting lineup got a hit, including Wiel with a career-high six RBIs and four hits. Ro Coleman went 4 for 5 with four runs and Jason Delay had four RBIs and three hits. Wiseman and Reynolds both added three RBIs.

Vanderbilt scored 10 runs in the fifth, sending 15 batters to the plate. The scoreboard couldn't keep up - it only has enough room for nine runs in one inning.

The Commodores also sent 10 batters to the plate when they scored four in the third.

Vanderbilt's Walker Buehler (4-2) struck out seven and allowed two hits in five scoreless innings, retiring the first 11 batters.

Radford (45-16,) which entered the regional with a 15-game winning streak, used eight pitchers, but only three held Vanderbilt scoreless.

Seven Commodores were hit by pitches, six drew walks and Radford made six errors.
