Vinny Mihota will undergo knee surgery

BLACKSBURG, Va – The Virginia Tech Hokies have lost another key defensive player to season-ending surgery. 

On Tuesday, head coach Justin Fuente confirmed that junior defensive lineman Vinny Mihota suffered an injury to his left knee in Saturday's game against Pittsburgh. Mihota is scheduled to undergo surgery performed by Dr. Chris Catterson, of Carilion Clinic, next week that will end his season.

"I share Vinny's disappointment that he'll miss the rest of the season," Fuente said. "But based on last offseason, I also know no one will rehab more diligently than Vinny to get back on the field with his teammates. We look forward to Vinny making a complete recovery."
