Prime time game called for prime time tailgates

VT, Miami fans tailgated before big game

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – 13 Virginia Tech took on No. 10 Miami in an ACC Coastal Division showdown in prime time Saturday night.

The thing about the 8p.m. kickoff was it provided plenty of time for fans to tailgate.

You can’t have a tailgate without the food, grills on grills and lots of grub to go around.

As expected being the home team, Miami fans were out in force

The Hurricanes were definitely not camera shy, and it was clear they 100 percent bought into the turnover chain.

Some Hokies made the long trip from Virginia, while others had more personal reasons for coming to the game. Donna came to watch her son, Hokies defensive tackle Jarrod Hewitt, play.

She’s wasn't the only player mom waiting for the big game. The 'Canes’ Ahmmon Richards’ mom, Daphanie, couldn’t wait to get this game started.

The pregame party was only part of the game experience. It all came down to what happened on the field, where the Hurricanes took down the Hokies 28-10.
