The No. 3 Houston Cougars beat the No. 11 Ohio State Buckeyes 74-59 Sunday night to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

Senior guard Corey Davis Jr. led the way for the Cougars with 21 points, six rebounds and three steals, while senior guard Galen Robinson Jr. added 13 points, six steals and five assists.

Senior guard C.J. Jackson was the leading scorer for Ohio State (20-15) with 18 points while sophomore forward Kaleb Wesson contributed 15 points.

With the win, Houston (33-3) reaches the Sweet 16 for the first time since the days of Phi Slama Jama in 1984. That squad, led by Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler, made the Final Four for three straight seasons between 1982 and 1984, losing the national title game in 1983 and 1984.

Next up for Houston will be No. 2 Kentucky at 9:59 p.m. ET Friday at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. That will be the second game of the night in Midwest Region play, with the earlier game featuring No. 1 North Carolina vs. No. 5 Auburn at 7:29 p.m. ET.
