Pulaski native tapped to lead Pulaski Yankees as general manager

Edney served as assistant general manager last season

PULASKI, Va. – The Pulaski Yankees ownership group announced its new general manager on Friday.

Christina Edney, who served as the assistant general manager last season, has been promoted to the top spot.

The Pulaski native, a 2012 Liberty University graduate, spent several years working in television news as an associate producer at WDBJ7 and a sports reporter and morning reporter at WHSV in Harrisonburg, before returning to her Pulaski roots.

“It’s great to be home, in my town and at my ballpark," said Edney in a statement. "As we continue to move forward and look to the future, my goal is to build on the foundation already in place and continue to provide a fun, safe, affordable stadium for children, families and fans alike.”

The transition in management comes as the previous general manager, Blair Hoke, left the organization to accept a new position with a minor league team in North Carolina.

Hoke pioneered the move in ownership back in 2015 when the town of Pulaski sold Calfee Park to the Shelor Ownership Group.
