English teacher Cathy Dickenson choked on a piece of food in her classroom and 9th grader Kenny Reynolds followed her into the hall and did the Heimlich maneuver.
Interestingly, just days before Kenny had asked his health teach how to do the Heimlich maneuver.
"It's made me more aware that the things we learn in class is vital to the way we live in life and anything can happen at any time," Kenny explained.
"He was the right person in the right place at the right time for me. He really was, it was just meant to be that he was there and he knew what to do and he just learned it," Cathy said.
Earlier this year, the Roanoke City School Board recognized Kenny for his life saving efforts.
