Meteorologist

Meteorologist Chris Michaels is an American Meteorological Society (AMS) Certified Broadcaster, forecasting weather conditions in southwest Virginia on WSLS 10 News from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. weekdays on Virginia Today.

Chris earned the designation of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist from the American Meteorological Society in 2017.

Chris attended North Carolina State University and received the B.S. in Meteorology in 2014. Chris comes to Roanoke from the Tri-Cities (Bristol, Kingsport, Johnson City), where he worked for the NBC-Affilliate WCYB for four years. 

He enjoys trying out local foods, breweries, going hiking and going to concerts. He has a cat named Milli, who you will see often on Chris’ Facebook page.

Chris is very happy to call Roanoke home now and looks forward to all the area has to offer.
