Jessica Jewell

Weekend Anchor / Reporter

Jessica Jewell anchors 10 News on Saturdays and Sundays at 6 and 11 p.m. You can also catch her reporting during the week.

Jessica joined the WSLS 10 team in May 2017. She’s new to southwest Virginia, but loves exploring the beautiful landscape and meeting the wonderful people who live here. She’s originally from Clayton, North Carolina, a small town outside Raleigh.

Jessica is a proud Pirate alum! She graduated summa cum laude from East Carolina University with a major in Communication and a minor in Business Administration.

Before moving to Roanoke, Jessica worked as a Digital Journalist at WNCT in Greenville, North Carolina. She covered a variety of stories impacting people across eastern North Carolina. Most significantly, she extensively covered the impacts of the implementation and subsequent repeal of North Carolina’s so-called Bathroom Bill, and the historic flooding that devastated many communities in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.

In her free time, Jessica enjoys volunteering with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and spending time with her dog, Bentley! She also loves getting to know the people and places that make her new home in Roanoke so special.

Jessica is excited to be sharing your stories! If you have any ideas or news tips for her, send her an email at jjewell@wsls.com
